Change Logs - June 2014 (update to version 0.6)

Literally a "megalodontic" update, that brings the game to the version 0.6. Here is a general list of the improvements that we've made:

Bugs
  • many minor graphic bugs solved (like the "send helper" button that was partially covered by a transparent image)
  • visualization problems with boxes have been solved in the storage
  • Solved most of the bugs relative to the "Town Crier" (in-game news). Though, something may still bug...
  • "bribe criminals" was not working on thieves :o
  • the "active effects" timer was conflicting with the customers timer in the shop page.
  • If you assign a guard to the city, but you already have a helper guarding the city, it will replace the old guard with the new one.
  • now the spies will not work on credit anymore :oops:
  • finally, the displayed cost of the items purchased by postal trade is correct.
New login system
Starting from now, the players will not be able to play/login in more than one browser window.

Shop
  • added a visit counter in the shops
  • now the alchemists can comment an item on sale, without having to buy it.
  • players can now see the last 10 comments that a shop received from the customers and alchemists.
  • now you'll be able to see the discount rate in the shops of the other alchemists.
  • when visiting a shop, you can see if you know the ingredients recipes of a certain recipe on sale. You can also know if you already possess the ingredients on sale.

Market
  • The getter has been improved:
    • Offers can be seen from the getter
    • You can search all the stuff on sale in a single city
    • You can find loans by tiping a number
Bank
  • now ( :roll: ) you can see your granted/accepted loans in the bank page
  • information visualization has been improved
  • now you can add a reason to the bank transfers you make!
Storage
  • Added a "sell all the box" option that allows you to... ehmm.. sell all the box!
  • And again: added a "transfer all the box" option that allows you to... ehmm... you know!
  • from now, when your Mail Box will have something inside, it will glow with a greenish color.
Laboratory
  • added a button to empty the laboratory in just 1 click
  • added an "exit" button to the "potion resume" page (for those who needs buttons for everything 8-) )
  • from now, when saving a recipe you'll be redirected to that recipe, in the recipary (instead of being kicked to the office! :mrgreen: )
  • If you will work with many stocks of the same vial/solvent, the laboratory will be using the stock with more units.
  • If you will work with many stocks of the same vial, only one of them will be seen in the "vials" slot.
Thieves system
  • now the thieves can steal from the postman that is carrying your parcels :lol:
  • the minimum title difference has been raised to 5. Now you can steal from players that have 5 titles more or less then you.
  • the thieves now have 3 options:
    • steal objects:
      • Thieves can only steal from 5 to 15 units of an object for every skill point they have
    • steal trilobs
      • Thieves can steal from (0,02% of the victim's money * amount of thieves) to (0,02% of the victim's money * amount of thieves * thieves skill)
    • steal recipes
      • To ask a thieve to steal a reciepe can be done only if you have the Methodic medal (the ability to make recipe books). The victim loses the stolen recipe. Stealing a recipe is 10 times less expensive than stealing objects or trilobs.

System
  • In the "city" page, the "Alchemists Ranking" list has been decurted from the players that has not passed the 1000 rank points. However, the active player can always be seen (even if they have only 1000 rank points)
  • From now on, the only way to add an ingredient to your encyclopedia, is by finding it with your helpers.
  • Now players can concede a more limitated amount of loans
Menu
  • added the "helper tabs", little tabs that show the activity of your helpers in the main menu.
  • implemented the Simplified Menu (also called "foreros menu" :geek: ) in the system bar. Now you can browse every page of the game in just one click.
Sound
Sound has been implemented in PotionEmpire, finally. This is the very first version, with just some basic sfx. The sound is inactive by default, and must be turned on by clicking on this icon: Image

Helpers System - final act!
Now the Helpers System is complete. Alchemists can assign a recipe to an helper, that will start working on it, producing potions for him! To do so, is needed a new medal (obtainable at level 7 of laboratory): the Mentor Medal.

Warning! You will have to re-save your recipes to adapt them to the new system!

  • Basic Rules:
  • ingredients, vials and solvents must be placed into the "main box"
  • only recipes with 100% of precision can be assigned
  • the helper takes first the stocks with less quality and more units
New rank gain system
The evolution system has been totally remade. From now, to gain rank, you'll need to pay attention to:

Evolution bar
The evolution bar charges itself to the maximum (15 minutes) at every login. It can be filled back by clicking on the "relog" button, but only if the bar has reached the 50% (or less) of charge.

Active characteristics
Every time you make a certain action (listed below), the related characteristic will be "active". When a characteristic is active, it means that you can gain point in that characteristic. It will stay active for 5 minutes after the last activity.

Gaining rate
The "low growing" characteristics will pay 10 rank points every 10 seconds (1/second). The "fair growing" characteristics will pay 20 rank points every 10 seconds (2/second). The "high growing" characteristics will pay 30 rank points every 10 seconds (3/second).

Activating the characteristics
Characteristics can be activated by doing these actions:
  • Ability
    • Creating (or recreating) potions
    • Refining ingredients
    Knowledge
    • Sending an explorer
    • Saving a recipe
    • Traveling
    Commerce
    • Putting a stock on sale
    • Making a postal trade


Note: the actions of your helpers does not activate any characteristic (with the exeption of those sent to find ingredients).

Warning! The characteristics points of every player has been adapted to the new system and resetted to half way of their current level. The points difference dued to the old system lacks, has been compensed so some player may find that their character has stepped back one or more titles. Some old medals/achievements may have changed and some other may have remained the same.

More stuff...
  • Now, unread messages are displayed first
  • Arcane Vision has now some fancy visual effects
  • The timers of the game (elixirs, customers, explorers, etcc...) are all updated also in the main page; it means that you can stay in the city view waiting your explorers to come home or the customers to come in
  • The details tab shows now the opening date of your shop
  • Customers now come to the shops at a slower rate
  • The base value of the potions has been increased
  • the elixirs that enhance the characteristics has been made more powerful. Now the basic additional gain is 10% (20% if combined with Enhance Effects)
  • Some "helps" has been added/updated/improved
  • Some translation work has been done
  • Now there is an annoying green arrow bouncing in the upper part of the screen until you have finished the first 3 tutorials (yeah, i know it's annoying but someone needs it! ;) )
